Some few minutes ago, reports emerged that one of the prominent Human rights activists in the country has lost her life. This activist is none other than Mrs Agnes Odhiambo.
As reported by one source, Agnes Odhiambo who is well known for advocating for women and children’s rights in Africa lost her life some few hours ago but the cause of her death has not yet been revealed. Her demise was announced by the director of Human Rights Watch, HRW Mrs Emma Daly. Daly while announcing these sad news described the deceased as a senior women’s rights campaigner who was always dedicated to her work.
“Agnes Odhiambo was widely known for her tireless efforts in combatting child marriage. She was vocal in advocating for the education of pregnant girls to get a fair chance in education. Moreover, she embarrassed panafricanism and shed light on substandard maternity care in South Africa. Consequently, Agness also highlighted the physical and psychological trauma endured by survivors of rape during Kenya’s post-election violence.” Says the report.
