Cases of persons receiving money erroneously through Mpesa have been on the rise, highlighting each acts of honesty and irresponsibility among recipients.
In a current incident, Deiv Michael, a resident of Mombasa, confirmed integrity by returning Ksh 38,000 after Ksh 43,000 used to be mistakenly sent to his phone, no matter dealing with monetary constraints and having an existing Fuliza loan.
According to Deiv, he obtained Ksh 43,000 in error, however due to a Ksh 5,000 Fuliza loan deduction, he was left with Ksh 38,000. In an interview with TUKO.co.ke, Deiv emphasized the significance of honesty in such situations, urging others no longer to take benefit of incorrect transactions.
“Kenyans have appropriate hearts; when any person sends you money via mistake, you should not assume you are unexpectedly wealthy. Call the sender if possible, or stay in touch until you receive confirmation to return the funds. God will bless you abundantly,” expressed Deiv, who recently accomplished his Kenyan Certificate of Secondary Education in 2022.
His act of returning the dollars serves as a reminder of the significance of integrity and responsible financial behaviour, even in challenging circumstances.
