Raila Odinga has urged his Nyanza stronghold to fully support President William Ruto’s administration, declaring it the only government that can deliver real development to the region and insisting the time is now.

Addressing a massive crowd at Kirembe grounds on the outskirts of Kisumu, the former Prime Minister rallied residents to stand behind the current regime, emphasizing his strategic partnership with President Ruto under the inclusive government framework.

“We must kmprove the lives of our people now. We can’t afford to wait for another government. This is the one that must serve our people,” Raila declared, receiving thunderous applause from the crowd.

He added, “If not now, then it’s right now! That’s why I entered into an agreement with President Ruto through his UDA party.”

Odinga assured his supporters that his move to collaborate with Ruto was intentional and informed, asking the people of Nyanza to trust his judgment.

He highlighted a series of upcoming development projects under the current administration, including:

A modern railway line connecting Naivasha–Kisumu–Malaba,

A state-of-the-art industrial hub in Miwani, Muhoroni Constituency,

The affordable housing project in Kisumu,

Revitalization of critical economic sectors like cotton, groundnut farming, and fishing.

Raila’s remarks appear to silence growing speculation around his cooperation with Ruto a topic that has caused friction among some regional leaders, with factions divided on whether to embrace the government or resist.

President Ruto, clearly energized by Odinga’s endorsement, declared his commitment to hard work and unity, saying:

In what appeared to be a swipe at former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and other opposition figures, Ruto criticized early 2027 political campaigns, urging leaders to stop politicking and focus on delivering results.
