President William Ruto has come out swinging against his political detractors, dismissing them as visionless noise-makers while solidifying his surprise political bromance with ODM leader Raila Odinga.

Speaking in Kisumu during a high-stakes development tour, Ruto accused the opposition of prematurely launching 2027 campaigns instead of focusing on delivering change to the Kenyan people.

“These people have no agenda. All they do is call me names. They are busy politicking, while Raila and I are busy working.” Ruto noted.

The fiery speech comes as Ruto and Raila, once bitter political foes, continue to cement their newfound political alliance, which they say is focused on uniting the country and fast-tracking development.

The President took a jab at critics of the affordable housing project, warning them to stop sabotaging a program that is employing thousands of youth and stimulating local economies.

Raila, backing the project, announced a donation of five acres of land to support the construction of more housing units.

The President revealed plans to build 15,000 affordable housing units in Kisumu, including 2,400 already under construction and 4,000 more in the pipeline. The flagship Makasembo Housing Project is a key part of this plan.

He also dropped a major infrastructure bombshell: the long-awaited extension of the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) from Naivasha to Kisumu and Malaba will begin in December.
