Comedian David Oyando, popularly known as Mulamwah, claims he swapped wedding plans for a luxury car after his relationship with fiancée and baby mama Ruth K ended.

In a birthday post shared on Instagram on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, the newly turned 32-year-old comedian revealed he used the money saved for his wedding to Ruth K to purchase a brand-new Mercedes-Benz S-550.

“And for my birthday gift 🙈 from e class benz to now a sleek Mercedes-Benz S-550, 4.8l v8 bi turbo engine. ilikuwa pesa nimesave ya harusi but mambo haikuenda poa 😖,” he wrote.

The luxury sedan, powered by a 4.8-liter V8 bi-turbo engine, replaces his previous E-Class Benz.

“With God nothing is impossible, as always move slowly, move correctly. Even if people don’t believe in you, always believe in yourself. Pray and put your best foot forward. be like a bird 🦅 trust your wings, not the branches you land on,” he added.

Mulamwah also extended a heartfelt shoutout to his fans and brand partners, crediting their support for his continued motivation.

“To my fans and brands, asanteni sana for always believing in me and urging me to push forward. mtu akikwambia huwezi, tell em if konki did it then i can too 👌💪. We keep pushing and hoping for the best,” he expressed.

However, given Mulamwah’s history of leveraging his personal life for social media attention, some observers might question if this announcement is another calculated move following his recent breakup with Ruth K.

The Recent Breakup
On April 10, 2025, Mulamwah confirmed his split from Ruth K, surprising fans just weeks after their engagement.

“Yes, it’s true we have decided to part ways with R.K. It was nice while it lasted,” he posted on social media, concluding a relationship that had been in the public eye since 2021.

Their love story began in Kitale, where they met at a hardware store where Ruth worked. Initially, they downplayed their connection, often referring to each other as “besties,” even after Mulamwah visited Ruth’s family for what appeared to be a traditional introduction ceremony in 2023.

They publicly announced their engagement on February 17, 2025, with Ruth flaunting her engagement ring and captioning her video;

“I said yes.” Mulamwah responded with a lighthearted post: “Cute fingers like hers deserve rings.” Their relationship led to the birth of their son, Oyando Jr., in February 2024.

This isn’t Mulamwah’s first public breakup. In 2021, he ended a turbulent relationship with fellow content creator Carol Sonnie, with whom he shares a daughter, Keilah Oyando. That separation was anything but quiet, involving social media drama, accusations, and child support disputes that kept both parties in the spotlight.
