The Kenyan music fraternity and fans are united in grief following the heartbreaking loss of Ken Kìrehù, son of veteran Kikuyu Benga musician Peter Kigia wa Esther.

Ken was last seen on March 18th at Mabanda shopping center in Gatanga, wearing a red T-shirt and black jeans.

 

His disappearance sparked an intense search, with family, friends, and concerned citizens holding onto hope for his safe return. However, that hope was shattered when his body was discovered in Kigio, Gatanga Constituency.

The circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear, deepening the anguish of his family and the community.

As news of Ken’s passing spread, an outpouring of condolences flooded social media, with fans, fellow musicians, and public figures rallying around the grieving family.

Peter Kigia himself penned an emotional tribute to his son, reflecting the depth of his pain. Losing a child is one of the most devastating experiences, and his words expressed the grief and anguish of a father whose worst fears had come true.
