Former Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza has started a new political party. She said she is doing this for her “political safety” after she was removed from her job as governor. Kawira now wants her new party to bring in candidates who will try to win every seat in the next general election.
Kawira said she was removed unfairly. She said some Members of Parliament from Meru County went and asked President William Ruto to support her removal. She believes they all worked together to make sure she lost her job. That is why she feels she was “sacrificed.”
“I was sacrificed, and that is the truth,” Kawira said. “Now I want to move forward with my own party. A party that will protect me and help other people who are treated badly like me.”
She also said that her party can work together with other political groups in Kenya, but only if those groups have the same ideas and believe in the same things. Kawira wants a party that fights for fairness, justice, and good leadership. She said she is tired of politics where people only care about power and not about helping the people.
Kawira did not tell the public the name of her new party yet, but she said people will hear about it soon. She is planning to make it a strong party not just in Meru but in the whole country.
Some people think this is a clever plan. They say she wants to stay in politics even after being removed. Others think she is trying to create her own power so that she can still be important in politics.
Kawira was one of the few women governors in Kenya. Now, even though she lost that job, she is showing that she will not give up. She wants to prove that she is still strong and ready to fight in the world of politics.
