The Kenyan government has reopened the pensioners’ registration portal for seven more days.

This announcement was made by the Pensions Department under the National Treasury on Friday, May 2, 2025.

The registration portal was first open for three months, but some pensioners could not register during that time.

To help those who missed out, the government has decided to give them one last chance to register. The deadline for this final registration window is May 10, 2025.

“This decision is in response to the many genuine complaints we received from pensioners who could not register earlier. We are giving them one more opportunity, but this is the final one,” the Ministry said in an official notice.

Pensioners who fail to register by May 10 will be removed from the government payroll and will stop receiving their pension money. The Treasury is urging all affected pensioners to act quickly.

“Please do not wait until the last minute. Register now to keep getting your pension benefits,” the notice added.

How to Register:

There are two ways for pensioners to register:

1. Online Method

Go to the e-Citizen Portal

Log in and go to the Pensions Department section under the National Treasury

Follow the instructions provided to complete your registration

2. In-Person Help

Pensioners who are unable to use the online portal can visit:

Any Huduma Centre

The Treasury Pensions Department office

Approved registration agents across the country

In December 2024, the government first asked all pensioners and their beneficiaries to update their details through the e-Pensions Management Information System (e-PMIS).

This system was introduced to make services faster, easier, and more efficient.

The Director of Pensions, Alfred Kagika, said that Kenya is following the steps of other countries that are using digital tools to improve how pensions are managed.

The National Treasury Cabinet Secretary, John Mbadi, stressed the importance of this final registration push and asked all pensioners to take it seriously.

This move shows the government’s commitment to improving public service delivery, but it also puts pressure on pensioners to act fast or lose their money.

Pensioners are reminded: May 10 is the final deadline.
