Ugandan president Yoweri Museveni’s son Muhoozi Kainerugaba has come out to request the US president Donald Trump to be lenient on Uganda.
In a post on his X page Muhoozi told Trump to remove any extra tarriffs imposed on Uganda and reinstate their membership to AGOA.
Uganda was removed from AGOA last year after president Museveni opposed the implementation of the law to recognize the LGBTQ community in his country.
Museveni instead implemented a law that would see those involved in or supporting the LGBTQ community punished.
As a result the US government removed Uganda from AGOA as punishment.
“Afande Donald Trump. I request you sir, to remove any tariffs on Uganda and reinstate us to AGOA. Thank you.”
This request by Muhoozi has left people talking because it is not lik him to beg. He has always acted as someone who doesn’t care about anything but seeing him beg means the tarriffs are hitting them hard.
Even when Uganda was removed from AGOA they said they did not car but now Muhoozi wants to be taken back.
