“Pope Francis was a true servant of God. He taught us the power of humility, even when sitting at the highest seat of spiritual authority,” said the former Head of State.

“Let us learn from him and lead lives grounded in humility and compassion.”

Uhuru urged Kenyans to emulate the Pope’s behavior, emphasizing the need for unity, love, and service among citizens.

The requiem mass drew several notable leaders, including former Defense Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa and Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, both of whom echoed Kenyatta’s sentiments.

The Basilica was filled with prayers, hymns, and messages of tribute from both the clergy and laity.

Kenyans joined the global Catholic community in mourning the spiritual leader, whose impact reached far beyond the Vatican.
