On Wednesday morning, as reported by TV47, a 50-year-old man was killed by another man in Makutano town, Kapenguria.
The suspect had allegedly been accusing the man of having an affair with his wife.
Eyewitnesses said the suspect attacked the man, hacked him to death using a panga and After committing the act, he ran away.
“We were shocked to see him do such a thing in broad daylight. He did not fear anyone,” said one of the witnesses.
One of the witnesses, a woman who sells water in the town, said that early in the morning, the suspect was seen walking around with a panga.
She said that the suspect was moving from one place to another, looking for the man.
“He was asking people if they had seen the man. I was very scared. We were all in panic because we didn’t know what he would do,” she said.
The woman added that she quickly told police officers about what was going on. The officers told her they would come after thirty minutes but when they arrived, the man had already been killed.
“I called the police, but they came when it was too late. The worst had already happened,” she added.
After arriving, the police apologized to the people for coming late. They promised to do everything they can to find and arrest the suspect, who is now hiding.
“We are sorry we arrived late. We will do our best to find him and bring him to justice,” said one officer.
