Musician Nameless, born David Mathenge, has laid his beloved father, the late Mzee Joshua Mathenge, to rest in an emotional farewell marked by heartfelt tributes and strong expressions of love and support from friends and family.Sharing photos from the burial on his social media, Nameless wrote, “Yesterday we laid Dad to rest. It was a blessed day full of inspiring tributes, a show of real friendships, and an emotional farewell to a true Shujaa, J.S. Mathenge!”
He continued, “Our friends and relatives stood with us in every way and helped us give our Dad a befitting sendoff. I felt the love of the Lord and the authentic spirit of my dad guide the day! Truly proud of the man my dad was to many.”
Nameless, who has always maintained a close relationship with his father, frequently honored him on social media.
In April 2024, he celebrated Mzee Mathenge’s 88th birthday alongside his siblings, expressing gratitude for his father’s health and wisdom.He highlighted one of his father’s life lessons: “He told us to always remember that we can’t know everything and be right.
To be open to correction and also free to correct each other. Growth is vital in any relationship.”
In 2020, the artist had also publicly expressed his gratitude after his father underwent a successful head surgery.
