A worrying kidney sale scam is unfolding in Eldoret, leaving several young men in pain, broke, and emotionally shattered.

In the latest case, a young man from Kipkenyo village was promised Sh1.2 million in exchange for one of his kidneys.

He went through weeks of medical tests, was taken to a private hospital for surgery, and afterwards, he was given only Sh400,000, far less than what he had been promised.

Since then, he has struggled with constant pain and shame.

He now stays indoors most of the time, avoiding people due to stigma and regret.

Investigations show the man was told to change his name and even got a passport to pretend he was a foreigner donating the kidney.

This trick helped the hospital cover up the illegal deal.Sadly, he’s not alone. Other young men from the same village say they also fell into the same trap.

One had to be rushed to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital after falling ill from the surgery.

Families say they reported the cases to the police, but slow investigations have made them lose hope of justice or any form of compensation.

The Ministry of Health recently flagged some hospitals in Eldoret for shady practices, but locals are now demanding faster action.

They want the government to shut down the hospitals involved and protect other young people from falling victim.

Many of those affected are now too weak to work, their dreams crushed and their health at risk, all for money they never truly received.
