Attorney Ndegwa Njiru has attacked former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and President William Ruto harshly. In an interview today, he claimed that people supported Raila because he was the lesser evil rather than because he was the better leader. He clarified that although Raila was viewed as a superior candidate to Ruto in the 2022 elections, this did not imply that he was the best alternative.
“I don’t know who advises Babu (Raila). We never supported Raila because he was the best; we supported him because he was the lesser evil. We supported him because, between him and Kaongo (Ruto), Baba was the lesser evil. That is the only reason we supported him; otherwise, the two of them are hyenas,” Njiru said.
Both Raila and Ruto are like hyenas, Njiru continued, implying that they are just thinking about themselves. He seemed to think that Raila is no longer a strong leader and questioned the counsel that he received. Additionally, the attorney asserted that Raila has been turned down in Africa. He claimed that even Africa no longer wants Raila since he has been pushed around the continent.
He also exhorted him to leave politics, return home, and look after his grandchildren. He went on to say that Kenya has more reliable and superior leaders. He asserts that the nation needs leaders who are unassailable and really interested in enhancing the lives of people.
“The man was pushed about Africa until even Africa rejected him, and he was rejected in Africa. Leave him to look after his grandchildren. Njiru continued, “We have better people who are trustworthy, who mean business for this country, and who are not buyable.”
Njiru went on to mention a book he had studied in school called “Tumbo Lisiloshiba,” claiming that it depicted Ruto and Raila as being solely focused on their stomachs. We used to read a novel called ‘The Insatiable Stomach’ at school, you know. For you, that’s Raila Odinga and William Ruto. “What enters their stomachs and throats is what matters to them,” he stated.
