As president Ruto finalizes his tour of the Mt Kenya region all eyes are on him to see what comes after.
Will he maintain the relationship he has created or he will disappear and appear again after some months?
During his visit there have been some speculations that people were mobilized through payment to attend the rallies.
Lawyer Wahome Thuku has come out to allege that the people of Othaya have been paid to come to Ruto’s rally and cheer his speech.
He said that a contract was signed so that the market will be closed when the president will be around so that all the people could go to his rally.
Wahome in a sarcastic way said that the people will honor the contract and cheer him up.
“Finally Your Excellency, our people have received YOUR mobilization fee and they will turn up well. The town market will be closed by force. But the people have only received yours money. They will cheer you and dance only as per the Terms of The Contract.”
Wahome however said that the other leaders who will be accompanying the president will not have an easy time with the people because the ‘contract’ does not cover them.
He said that if they want to be cheered they must also pay the people like the president did.
“But they have not received the fees to cheer your other local kunda ngûtûmes. Those ones must pay before you arrive or else….. We are not Laikipians who danced on credit only to be short-changed. Sisi tunalipwa kwanza.”
