A tragic incident has left a family in Limuru, Kiambu County, in deep mourning after a road accident in Nakuru claimed the lives of seven family members, including a widow’s husband and three children.
The accident occurred on March 30 along the Mai Mahiu–Naivasha Highway, when a speeding trailer collided with the family’s vehicle, resulting in the immediate deaths of the adults and severe injuries to the children, who later succumbed to their injuries at the hospital.
Felista Njeri, the widow who lost her husband, Francis Muturi, and their three children—Fidelis Waithera (15), Catherine Wanjiru (13), and Vitalis James Kirubi (7)—has been hospitalized due to the shock and trauma from the accident.
Family members reported that she fell ill shortly after learning about the tragedy, highlighting the emotional toll this incident has taken on her.
The bereaved family is now facing significant financial challenges as they prepare for the funerals of their loved ones.
They have appealed to the government and well-wishers for assistance in covering the costs of coffins and transportation for the deceased.
