A family in Talket, Uasin Gishu County, is in mourning after their 19-year-old daughter was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a lodging.

According to reports, the Form 2 student was picked up from her home by a 24-year-old boda boda rider, who claimed to be her boyfriend.
The two booked a room for the night, but what followed turned into a horrific crime.
Authorities revealed that the young man later contacted the area chief, confessing to the crime and providing the location of the victimās body.
Upon receiving the report, police rushed to the scene and found the lifeless body of the girl covered with a blanket.
The suspect then surrendered himself to law enforcement and is currently in custody as investigations continue.
Uasin Gishu Police Commander Benjamin Mwanthi confirmed the arrest, stating that detectives are working to establish the motive behind the killing.
He further urged parents, especially those with children in day schools, to closely monitor their whereabouts to prevent such tragedies.
The body of the deceased was transferred to the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) mortuary as investigations proceed.
The incident has reignited concerns over student safety and the dangers posed by unchecked movements outside school.
