President William Ruto on Thursday held a meeting with Reverend Edward Mwai of Jesus Winner Ministry Church at State House, Nairobi.
According to the president, the discussions centered on the church’s ongoing role in supporting the government’s Labour Mobility Programme, which aims to secure job opportunities for Kenyan youth abroad.
“We appreciate Jesus Winner Ministry Church for complementing our Labour Mobility Programme by hosting a recruitment drive, which aims to secure jobs for our youth abroad. The government will continue supporting this initiative as we work to expand job and income opportunities for our young people,” President Ruto stated.
Bishop Mwai also briefed the President on the progress of Jesus Winner Ministry’s ongoing church construction in Roysambu, Nairobi.
The meeting comes at a time when Kenyan youth have vowed to occupy Jesus Winner Chapel this coming Sunday, following President Ruto’s high-profile visit to the church last weekend.
During that service, Ruto donated Ksh. 20 million to support the church’s development and pledged an additional Ksh. 100 million in funding.
While addressing the congregation at Jesus Winner Chapel last Sunday, Ruto praised Bishop Mwai and took a swipe at clerics who frequently criticize his administration.
“How I wish other people and other churches could do what Jesus Winner Ministry is doing—being part of the solution instead of worsening problems,” the President remarked.
