Obidan Dela, a popular digital content creator, has spoken about his close bond with the late Brian Chira’s grandmother.
He describes her as his best friend, emphasizing that their relationship is built on love and companionship.
Speaking on King’s Podcast, hosted by former Radio Maisha presenter Esther Mwende Macharia, Obidan dismissed speculation about their connection.
He made it clear that their relationship is not romantic but purely a friendship.
“She is my best friend. I don’t call her ‘shosho’; I call her Esther Essie, the Bad Girl.
I always tell people she isn’t old—she was just born earlier. There is love between us,” Obidan explained.
Obidan went the extra mile to make this year’s Valentine’s Day special for Chira’s grandmother.
He treated her to a luxurious day that included a spa session, salon visit, and professional photoshoot.
“We went to the salon, had a massage, micro-blading, waxing, manicure, pedicure with gel, and makeup.
Then, a photoshoot, dinner, and gifts. She has never been treated like this since she was born. She deserves to be loved.”
Dressed in matching red outfits, Obidan led her to a boutique, blindfolding her before revealing a special gift hamper.
The package contained items such as lemons, ginger, and a chocolate bar—things she often uses during her TikTok live sessions.
Despite their strong bond, a misunderstanding arose between them when Obidan gifted her a nightdress and undergarment for Valentine’s and posted a video online.
She felt this was disrespectful and called him out on social media.
Chira’s grandmother accused Obidan of using her for online fame.
She also claimed that he was jealous of her growing TikTok popularity and wanted to outshine her.
This unexpected conflict has left many wondering whether their once-close friendship will recover.
Fans are now speculating on whether Obidan and Chira’s grandmother will mend their friendship or if their fallout is permanent.
While some believe time will heal their differences, others think the damage has already been done.
