Karua acknowledged her own candidacy but emphasized that Kenya’s interests must come first. She urged all opposition leaders to present themselves but be prepared to rally behind a single flag bearer. According to her, personal ambitions should not override the broader goal of transformative leadership.
She stated that she would support another opposition candidate if it meant bringing change. Drawing parallels to the 2002 election, she noted the importance of collective responsibility in ensuring a political transition. Karua reiterated that removing what she termed as an “illegitimate regime” was the priority.
Her remarks come amid ongoing discussions within the opposition about forming a united front against Ruto. With growing calls for coalition-building, Karua’s stance signals a possible shift in political alliances ahead of 2027.
