Police in Texas, United States of America (USA) have launched investigations into the murder of a 37-year-old Kenyan woman whose lifeless body was discovered in her apartment.
The woman, identified as Esther Gitau, was found dead in her apartment at Lakecrest Drive in Killeen, with multiple gunshot wounds.
According to the Killeen Police Department, they received reports that there was a shooting incident in the said area prompting them to rush to the scene.
Upon arrival at the residence in the 3300 block of Lakecrest Drive, they found the woman already dead. Two children, who were not unaware of what had happened, were found safe in the house.
Homicide detectives launched a manhunt leading to the arrest of victim’s 42-year-old husband.
John Mwangi was arrested at his hideout in Fort Cavazos and taken to the Killeen City Jail pending further investigations.
Police have yet to establish the motive behind the murder, but it is believed to be a domestic violence-related incident.
