A body of an unidentified person was Wednesday afternoon discovered in Lake Nakuru.
The body had been spotted inside the Lake Nakuru National Park in the Barut area by a group of fishermen who called the police.
According to police, the body had physical injuries on the head with fresh blood oozing from the face.
The group of fishermen also informed the family of Brian Odhiambo who went missing after he was arrested by Kenya Wildlife Service Officers in January. However, when the family members visited the morgue, they discovered that the body was not that of their kin.
Reports indicate that the body has been identified by relatives as that of Justus Porokor.
The 29-year-old fisherman is said to have gone into the lake on Tuesday at around 12:40am and left his personal belongings with his close friend identified as Axel Grey.
When Porokor failed to return, Grey informed his family prompting a search which lasted for several hours before it emerged that a body had been recovered from the lake and taken to the mortuary.
According to Pokor’s family, he had arrived at his rural home together with his wife and three-year-old child four days earlier before his disappearance. As a fisherman in Naivasha, he decided to move to try fishing in Lake Nakuru after fishing in Lake Naivasha dwindled.
