In a surprising declaration, Senator Prof. Tom Ojienda has announced his intention to support President William Ruto in the 2027 general elections. Speaking during an interview on Citizen TV’s #CitizenDayBreak, Ojienda emphasized the need to recognize the achievements of the current administration, which he believes are often overshadowed by criticism.

Ojienda stated, “People are always speaking about the failures of this government, but nobody acknowledges its successes.” He highlighted various initiatives undertaken by the Ruto-led government, particularly in economic reforms and infrastructure development, as evidence of progress. His endorsement marks a significant shift in political allegiance and could influence public opinion ahead of the next election cycle.

The senator’s remarks have sparked mixed reactions, with some praising his focus on balanced evaluation, while others question his motives. As the 2027 elections approach, Ojienda’s support could bolster Ruto’s campaign, signaling potential realignments within Kenya’s political landscape.

Reactions;

“Most of the professor are always fools. They have knowledge but lack wisdom like Ojienda.” James Ngugi said.

“I thought a luo professor can’t bend such low.” Nyika said.

“Raila should by now know that a lot of people singing hosannas to him are just self serving opportunists who would never stand with him in battle. Why does it seem like he does not? Oh, and before anyone starts shouting about Mrima, against the overwhelming sentiment in my community I voted for the Azimio candidate in 2022.” Onesmus said.

“No Failures, it’s only Envy and Jealous, No more Looting at the expense of others, Nuetral financial management policies with a new CS.” Etwani said.
