Gabriel Oguda has urged African leaders, as they arrive in Addis Abeba today for the start of the conclave that will culminate in the election of our next African Union Commission Chair tomorrow, to look at the rich profile of a man who has stuck his neck out for the betterment of our lot and has never given up despite suffering greatly for it.

He added that as they retreat to the tranquility of his voting booths to listen to their inner voices before making the life-changing decision on the ballot tomorrow, they should reflect on the Great Trek we have made from the treacherous terrains of pestilence and inter-ethnic challenges to a continent teaming up with extensive promise, backed up by an industrious demographic ready for socioeconomic takeoff.

.He went on to say that voting for Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga is a vote for the strengthening of the covalent bonds that have shaped the destiny of the African people as envisioned by our forefathers and foremothers in the Pan African dreams.

He also stated that voting for Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga represents a rededication of Africa’s leadership to fight for long-term peace and justice, as well as a commitment to stand together in defense of the hard-fought liberty bequeathed to us by our forefathers and foremothers.

Oguda also stated that voting for Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga represents humility in service, dedication to struggle, maturity in leadership, and loyalty to our people.

He went on to say that Africa is counting on them to listen to Mama Miriam Makeba’s clarion call, open their eyes to the journey they have taken together, answer the call of the drum that has been beating since the advent of Pan Africanism, and show up for our Motherland by voting tomorrow.

“We come to you in prayer and supplication.” He added.
