On Thursday evening in Nairobi CBD, a drama emerged after police officers who were taking bribes from the Matatu drivers were surrounded by the EACC officers who were not happy following their forbidden actions.
The EACC officers resumed the arrest of the police officers who were eight.
According to the report, the officers pleaded with their counterpart to show mercy on them, but it was in vain as they were hurled to the EACC cars and driven away.
“Please, sir, we are doing this because we have people to take care of; we will not repeat the exact blunder again. Let us return to the station,” one of the detained officers said.
Their arrest comes after EACC raised concerns regarding the officers involved in corruption by taking and requesting cash as a bribe from the Kenyans.
Since the year began, at least more than fifty police officers have been arrested over corruption, according to the EACC report.
