John Methu, a prominent political figure, has raised concerns regarding the upcoming trip to Ethiopia, where 100 Members of Parliament (MPs) are expected to accompany Raila Odinga, also known as Baba. Methu emphasized that if these MPs are indeed traveling with Raila, it is his belief that they should be funding their own journey rather than relying on taxpayer money.

Methu, known for his advocacy on fiscal responsibility, strongly suggested that the MPs should take personal responsibility for the costs associated with the trip. He pointed out that the government should not bear the burden of such expenses, as it could be perceived as wasteful spending. “We cannot be a spendthrift,” Methu stated, stressing that public funds should be used judiciously.

Furthermore, Methu highlighted that Raila Odinga has his own well-established secretariat, implying that the expenses for his entourage should be managed privately through that entity, rather than through public resources. He called for greater transparency in how government funds are allocated, urging that political figures and their supporters take a more responsible approach to such matters.
