Narok County ODM Party Senator Ledama Ole Kina reacted strongly to the allegations that President William Ruto offered a Ksh 2 billion bribe to the impeached Deputy President, Rigathi Gachagua, to resign before his impeachment.

Speaking candidly, Senator Ledama expressed his astonishment at the alleged offer, calling it a “serious allegation” deserving of thorough investigation. He emphasized the vast difference between Gachagua’s salary and the offered bribe, stating, “His salary and benefits barely hit Ksh 4 million a month, totaling Ksh 240 million for five years of ‘service.’ Unless he’s some sort of saint, I can’t imagine why a real Mulima man wouldn’t just grab the cash and run. Who wouldn’t?”

The remark, which highlights the apparent discrepancy between the monthly earnings of a high-ranking official and such a massive bribe, has caught the attention of political analysts and the public alike. Senator Ledama’s comments suggest that, given the substantial offer, the allegation should not be brushed aside without careful scrutiny. The implication is clear—if true, the bribe offer would mark a turning point in the political landscape of the country.

At the heart of these allegations is the suggestion that President William Ruto, in an attempt to avoid the impeachment of his deputy, may have attempted to bribe Gachagua. This has raised several questions regarding the moral and legal implications of such actions at the highest levels of government.

As investigations continue into the truth of these allegations, Senator Ledama’s remarks add fuel to the fire, underscoring the need for transparency and accountability. While the former Deputy President has denied the bribery claims, the public is waiting eagerly for further details and any official findings.

This case could potentially reshape political alliances, and as the drama unfolds, it remains to be seen how the involved parties will handle the mounting pressure.
