Wycliffe Musalia Mudavadi, Kenya’s Prime Cabinet Secretary and a trained land economist, owns two high-performance helicopters: the Eurocopter B4 and the Airbus AS350B. These helicopters are renowned for their capabilities and versatility in various operations.

The Eurocopter B4 is a dependable twin-engine helicopter, popular for its spacious cabin that can comfortably accommodate up to seven passengers. Its robust engines enable it to fly at speeds of up to 287 kilometers per hour, with a range of approximately 635 kilometers. This helicopter is highly suited for VIP transport, medical evacuations, and law enforcement missions, thanks to its speed and reliability.

On the other hand, the Airbus AS350B, commonly known as the AStar, is a single-engine helicopter appreciated for its agility and advanced design. It can carry up to six passengers, and like the Eurocopter B4, it reaches speeds of 287 kilometers per hour. However, it has a slightly shorter range of about 555 kilometers. Its adaptability makes it ideal for various types of operations, including high-demand missions in different terrains.

In terms of cost, both helicopters are quite expensive. The Eurocopter B4 can be priced at around 200 million KES, while the Airbus AS350B is valued at approximately 150 million KES. These prices reflect the advanced technology and high performance associated with these models.

Mudavadi utilizes these helicopters for a range of purposes, including political engagements, business operations, and emergency support. The Eurocopter B4 and Airbus AS350B are symbols of top-tier aviation in Kenya, reflecting innovation and excellence in the country’s air travel sector.
