Former CS Amos Kimunya, on Thursday, January 30, took to social media to remember his late wife, Lucy Wanjiru Muhinga, who passed away a year ago.In an emotional post, Kimunya shared a throwback photo of the two, along with heartfelt words reflecting on their 40 years together.
He captioned the post, “On this date, 30th January a year ago, my dear Lucy Wanjiru Muhinga left us, but her memory lives on in my heart, as I keep cherishing the beautiful moments we shared over the 40 years I knew her.
The former CS added, believe her ever-happy soul is somewhere up in heaven, watching over us, and constantly guiding our life.”
Kimunya expressed the challenges of the past year, acknowledging the difficult adjustment to life without her.
However, he was grateful for the support from friends and family, which has helped in the healing process.
“To all those that have stood with us on this journey, we say a big thank you, and may God bless you aplenty,” he added.He went on to say, “I miss her dearly, will always love her, and will always thank God for having given her to us for those years we spent together. May her soul rest in eternal peace and her spirit live within us forever.”
The tribute was also shared by their children and extended family, who deeply miss Lucy. Kimunya, the former Kipipiri MP, has held various positions in Cabinet and Parliament during the presidencies of Mwai Kibaki and Uhuru Kenyatta.
Kimunya has always credited his decorated career to the support he received from his Late wife.
