The youth in Nakuru County have issued a strong warning to the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS), demanding immediate action regarding the disappearance of Brian Odhiambo. In a statement made on social media, Francis Gaitho has instructed the youth not to leave the streets until Odhiambo is either produced by KWS or his body is returned to his family.

This declaration follows reports that Odhiambo, a local resident, has gone missing under unclear circumstances, with some alleging that he was taken by KWS officials. Gaitho expressed frustration with the situation, criticizing KWS for placing the value of animals over human lives. His message made it clear that the youth would not tolerate what he described as “unbecoming” behavior from the wildlife agency.

Gaitho also drew a comparison to the controversial past of Tom Cholmondeley Delamere, a well-known figure involved in a similar dispute over wildlife protection. Gaitho suggested that KWS was continuing a legacy of mistreatment, which had been witnessed under Delamere’s time. He emphasized that the community would not back down in their fight for justice for Odhiambo.

The call for protests has stirred strong emotions among locals, with many expressing their determination to stand up for their own. Gaitho has made it clear that the youth in Nakuru are ready to take action if their demands are not met, signaling a growing tension between the local community and the authorities.

As of now, there has been no official statement from KWS regarding the matter, but the situation is quickly escalating, and the eyes of the public are focused on how the government will handle the ongoing tensions.
