David Oyando, better known as Mulamwah, is a Kenyan comedian and radio presenter. He was born in Butere, Kakamega County. Mulamwah is 32 years old. Mulamwah started school at Mpeli Primary School in Bungoma. Later, he joined Legacy School in Kitale. For secondary school, he went to St. Anthony Boys’ High School.

He worked hard in school and scored an “A” in his KCSE exams. This helped him join Moi University in Eldoret. There, he studied a Bachelor of Nursing course. Mulamwah worked as a nurse after finishing his studies. He did duties like preparing bodies after death, which required courage.

 

Mulamwah, has given a rare glimpse into his work as a last office practitioner in the hospital. He had an interview with Massawe Japanni where he revealed that the role is not for the faint-hearted and requires strong-willed and courageous individuals to handle it. He said that the job involved preparing the body of a deceased person before it is taken to the mortuary.

“As a nurse, when someone passes away, you have to move them from the bed where they died, take them to a different room, remove their ward clothes, take out any drips still in the body, do labeling, dress them in other clothes, and then call the mortuary staff to come and pick the body,” he said.

Many might find the task frightening, but Mulamwah said he never resorted to smoking or drinking to cope with the emotional toll. Instead, he relied on music to keep himself focused and busy. “I would play songs to keep myself occupied,” he said. Reflecting on his experience, Mulamwah admitted that the last office role was one of the most unforgettable aspects of his nursing career.

Mulamwah’s journey shows hard work and determination. He moved from nursing to comedy and became successful in both fields. His story inspires many young people to chase their dreams. Later, he followed his passion for comedy. In May 2022, he joined Milele FM as a radio presenter. His funny personality made him very popular. Mulamwah is married to Ruth K. He has two children with his baby mama, Carol Sonnie. Their children are Oyando Junior and Keilah.
