Catholic Church fraternity is thrown into deep mourning following the demise of a renowned clergyman.

Popular Kamba radio station Musyi Fm has announced the death of Fr Frederick Nguthu. Until his demise, Fr Nguthu was serving at St Paul’s Parish Kwa Kilui in Kitui county. Sources revealed that the priest succumbed to a short illness this morning while receiving treatment at the hospital. Fr Frederick Nguthu was ordained to priesthood twenty two years ago together with Fr Peter Muvea, Rev Urbanus Kamwilwa, Andrew Nzule, Rev Richard Kyenze, Fr Onesmus Macharia and the late priest Francis Kimanthi.

Sources revealed that the sad news of his demise was confirmed by Reverend Edward Mulwa who is the bishop’s executive secretary. Kenyans online joined hands in sending their condoling messages to the bereaved family. They eulogized Fr Frederick Nguthu as a dedicated servant of God and a role model to many youths in the society. His presence and teachings will be missed by congregants at St Paul’s Parish. The death of Fr Frederick Nguthu comes barely three days after Kisumu priest identified as Fr Mathew Omogo passed away while undergoing treatment.
