They say the internet never forgets. On Friday, this was the same scenario when witty Kenyans took to Facebook to revisit President William Ruto’s 2022 campaigns with his former DP Rigathi Gachagua in Githurai.
It was fun and laughter as netizens on Facebook revisited Ruto’s Facebook post from 2022, where the then DP got a huge reception in Githurai Kiambu county ahead of the hotly contested August 8, 2022 elections.
Ruto together with Gachagua had painted Githurai with yellow UDA party colours, a clear indication of the massive support Ruto enjoyed in the Mt Kenya region prior to the 2022 elections.
Among the leaders who accompanied Ruto were his former allies, who turned enemies to him, led by Gachagua and MP Gathoni Wamuchomba.
In the post, Ruto boasted of the Huge support his Hustler Nation enjoyed in Mt Kenya against then Uhuru Kenyatta’s candidate Raila Odinga.
However, three years down the line, a section of Kenyans who rallied behind UDA especially those from the Mt Kenya region, have recalled how they allegedly lied to by Ruto’s team.
Some went ahead to challenge the president to consider holding another rally in Githurai and explain to them how Hustler Nation narrative failed to rise to the occasion he took over office.
