A heartbreaking incident has left Kabwareng village in Nandi County reeling in shock.
Juma Hannis, a young man known for his active presence on social media, allegedly killed his wife, Winnie Akhalusa, following a domestic dispute.
Days before the tragedy, Juma had shared a post on Facebook, proudly showing off his wife to his followers.
In the post, he expressed his love for Winnie, stating that many people had been asking to see her. He posted a photo of the couple looking happy and captioned it:
“Stop asking me about my wife, here she is. I have revealed her, and I’m not scared of losing her. Respect the OGs.”
However, the joyful picture painted on social media soon turned into a nightmare.
On January 16, Kabwareng village woke up to the devastating news that Juma had allegedly stabbed Winnie to death during an argument.
The shocking event has left their three children orphaned, sparking sorrow and disbelief among friends, family, and the community.
Many who knew Juma have expressed their grief online. A friend referred to him as a calm individual, stating, “We were together last Sunday.
I can’t believe this happened. Rest in peace.” Another friend lamented, “Why did this happen? You’ve left behind young children. My condolences to the families.”
The tragedy has also highlighted the issue of domestic disputes escalating into violence. Kenyans have urged couples facing challenges in their relationships to seek help or consider separation rather than resorting to violence.
One user commented, “When there are problems, talk to each other or walk away. Killing someone is never the solution.”
This incident is not an isolated case. Domestic violence continues to affect many families across the country.
In a similar case reported last month in Kiambu County, a 34-year-old woman was killed by her ex-husband during a heated confrontation.
