In groundbreaking development for Mombasa County, President Ruto’s Economic Advisor, Moses Kuria, has announced the launch of the much-anticipated “Taifa Care Express” initiative. The event, which took place earlier today, saw the signing of an Intergovernmental Participation Agreement (IPA) and the official handover of digital registration gadgets, aimed at enhancing the delivery of health services to local communities.
Accompanied by Mombasa Governor H.E Abdul Swamad Sharriff Nassir and Health CS Deborah Barasa, Kuria marked the beginning of the mass registration initiative during the signing ceremony, which was held at the SDA Ziwani Church in Mombasa County. The event also highlighted the role of the Social Health Care Authority (SHA) in monitoring the process.
The “Taifa Care Express” program is designed to facilitate easier access to healthcare services for Mombasa residents through a streamlined registration system, ensuring that more citizens are included in the national health care scheme. The signing of the IPA between the national government and Mombasa County sets the stage for improved collaboration in advancing healthcare accessibility.
The digital gadgets provided during the ceremony are a key component of the project, allowing for efficient registration and record-keeping of health data. This move aligns with the government’s push for a digital transformation in health services across Kenya, ensuring that residents in all regions have better access to essential healthcare resources.
Moses Kuria expressed optimism about the program’s potential to transform healthcare delivery in Mombasa and beyond. He emphasized that initiatives like “Taifa Care Express” will contribute significantly to the government’s broader goal of universal healthcare coverage for all Kenyans. As this initiative unfolds, it promises to reshape the way healthcare is provided in Kenya’s coastal region, benefiting thousands of families.
