The YCC consists of young candidates, primarily from GenZ, preparing to contest for MCA positions in the upcoming elections.

According to Gachagua, the young leaders shared the challenges they face in their pursuit of leadership and proposed ways in which they could be supported to overcome these obstacles.

The Former DP Rigathi Gachagua assured them that their suggestions would be incorporated into his 2025 political plans.

He also praised their bravery for stepping out of their comfort zones and wished them success in their leadership endeavors.

Additionally, he encouraged them to expand their leadership and ensure that more women are included in the Executive Committee. The consultations, he noted, would continue. This visit came just a day after Gachagua unveiled his new political formation, fulfilling a promise he made to Kenyans in December.

On January 10, Gachagua announced that his new political movement would be called “Sauti Ya Mwananchi,” bringing an end to months of speculation among his supporters about his next political move.

Gachagua stated that his new formation would include governors, senators, MPs, and MCAs. The team, he said, had already mapped out their path for the 2025 elections.

Senator Dan Maanzo of Makueni hinted that Wiper Party might form an alliance with Gachagua for the 2027 elections, suggesting a potential split between Wiper and ODM.

The former DP Rigathi Gachagua is actively building alliances within the opposition coalition Azimio la Umoja.
