President William Ruto is optimistic about the elections in 2027. He has stated unequivocally that his performance during his first term in office is his top priority. “The competition is between me and my track record; I can’t see any other competitors,” Ruto stated in a recent speech.
His remarks demonstrate his belief that his accomplishments as president are sufficient to earn him a second term. His comments, meanwhile, could not sit well with his rivals, who are also getting ready for the 2027 contest. They will probably contest his record by highlighting his perceived shortcomings or by outlining their own national agenda.
Voters will make the final decision when the elections draw near. They will need to choose if Ruto’s track record is sufficient for him to serve another term as president or if they wish to offer someone else the opportunity.
