Rachel Otuoma, the widow of the late Kenyan athlete Ezekiel Otuoma, is going through an extremely difficult time after losing her husband.
The pain of losing someone so dear is unimaginable, and Rachel shared her emotional journey with the public.
Ezekiel Otuoma passed away recently, leaving his wife and family heartbroken. Rachel has been open about her grief, especially her experience visiting the morgue to see her husbandās lifeless body.
She described it as one of the most painful moments of her life. Rachel recounted how seeing Ezekiel lying cold and lifeless shattered her.
She expressed how hard it was to believe that the man she loved deeply, and expected to spend her life with, was gone forever.
āWhen I see him in the morgue, my heart breaks. Itās hard to touch him and feel that he is cold. The morgue attendants have been kind, reminding me to stay strong. But it hurts to see him there, being placed in and out of the fridge. I wish he could just wake up and speak to me,ā Rachel said tearfully.
Despite the pain, she affirmed her enduring love for Ezekiel, stating that death has not diminished her feelings for him.
The burial of Ezekiel Otuoma is planned for Saturday, January 11, 2025.
During a recent fundraiser to support the funeral expenses, Rachel expressed gratitude to Kenyans who have shown love and stood by her family during this tough period.
The family is still raising funds, with KSh 1 million needed to meet their budget.
Rachel remains hopeful that time will help her heal. Supporters have encouraged her, reminding her that healing is a gradual process.
Many have admired her courage to speak openly about her grief and honor her husbandās memory.
As Rachel prepares for Ezekielās final journey, she continues to rely on the kindness and support of others.
She hopes that one day, she will find peace and learn to live without her beloved husband.
