Renowned media personality Julie Gichuru turned 51 on Tuesday, January 7, marking the milestone with a heartfelt message of gratitude.The former Citizen TV presenter shared a montage video reflecting on the past year’s events, captioning it: “Filled with gratitude for the last year. A mother of four, Julie has captivated audiences with her professionalism, elegance, and signature smile throughout her illustrious career.

Beyond her media presence, she is admired for her sense of style and grace.

Born to a Kashmiri father and a Kikuyu mother, Julie experienced a challenging childhood following her parents’ separation. Her father remarried, and she grew up alongside three sisters and one half-brother.

Her academic journey began at St. Christopher’s School before she moved to Green Herald in Bangladesh.She later joined Karen C School for a term before transferring to Loreto Convent Musongari.

Julie completed her secondary education at Imani School and initially enrolled at USIU before moving to the UK, where she earned an MBA from Cardiff Business School and an LLB from Cardiff Law School, University of Wales.

Julie is married to Anthony Gichuru, son of the late Salome Njeri and Samuel Gichuru, the former CEO of Kenya Power.

Though Julie and Anthony first met in 1999, their families had long been acquainted.

Julie, initially hesitant about marriage due to her parents’ divorce, eventually embraced family life, and the couple had their first two children before formalizing their union.
