The family of Peter Muteti has delivered disturbing news about him despite being released after abduction saying all is not well. Muteti who has gained popularity especially after his abduction is a social media influencer who went missing on December 21, 2024 among other individuals.

He was abducted under mysterious circumstances along with Billy Mwangi, Bernard Kavuli, Kibet Bull, and others. Their abductions sparked widespread concern, prompting public outcry over the rising cases of enforced disappearances in Kenya with many people putting the blame on President William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza government.

This led to planned nationwide protests in Nairobi’s Central Business District (CBD) and other parts of the country, where citizens demanded justice and the safe return of those still missing. As the protests began, there was a glimmer of hope for the affected families.

Early this morning, Muteti, Mwangi, and Kavuli were released by unknown individuals. While their return is a cause for celebration, it has done little to ease the tension surrounding the continuing abductions in the country. Billy Mwangi was reunited with his family in Majengo, Embu, while Bernard Kavuli joined his loved ones after weeks of uncertainty.

Despite the relief of their return, Peter Muteti’s family has shared worrying news about him. They confirmed that Muteti is really disoriented and unable to speak after his return from captivity. He is not in a condition to communicate about his abduction or provide any details regarding his experience.

The family delivered this disturbing information to the public through popular CNN reporter Larry Madowo who also shared it with Kenyans.

“Hey Larry, Peter has been released. He is currently with family. He is quite disoriented and not able to talk and give interviews at the moment,” Muteti’s family stated.

This has raised even more questions and concerns about what transpired during his time in captivity. The disturbing news has left many questioning the true nature of these abductions. While the release of the three victims offers some hope, the ongoing search for the missing individuals and the condition of those who have returned reveal that all is still not well.

Peter Muteti’s family confirmed that he was back in Nairobi, offering a sense of relief that these three individuals, including Mwangi and Kavuli, had made it home safely. However, the whereabouts of other victims such as Kibet Bull, Ronny Kiplagat, and Steve Mbisi remain unknown, leaving their families in a state of distress.

As planned nationwide protests continue today and more questions arise, calls for justice, accountability, and an end to the rising cases of abductions continue to grow louder. The families of those still missing continue to demand answers, urging the government to take stronger actions to ensure the safety of Kenyans and bring an end to the menace.
