Head of state President William Ruto has today made new changes to his government with the changes announced by the Statehouse.

The Deputy Chief of Staff Eliud Owalo has made six new appointments to the Government Delivery Unit (GDU) to boost the communication strategies of the government.

According to a news report by Citizen TV, two of the new appointments are former KTN journalists; Boniface Odinga and Patrick Amimo.

Another prominent appointment to the team is Dr Carol Mandi a renowned Strategic Communications Advisor who has previously worked in the Ministry of Information, Communications, and Digital Economy and in publishing and editing roles.

She worked as the Managing Editor of True Love Magazine and a Sub-Editor at Nation Media Group.

Archie Achieng Ojany, Wambui Ng’ayu, and Alloyce Obare, all branding specialists, will complete the team mandated with strengthening the government’s brand and public engagement.

The three also bring a wealth of experience in the communications sector with Ojany having served as Minister for Tourism, Culture and Sports in the County Government of Kisumu.

Obare also served as Delivery Advisor in the Ministry of Information, Communications and the Digital Economy, and Chief of Staff in the County Government of Siaya.

An advertising expert, Ng’ayu also has experience working at NTV and K24.

In a statement on December 5, Owalo announced that the team will primarily focus on maintaining clear communication about government plans and their progress.
