Kibwezi West MP Mwengi Mutuse has been attacked by angry Kenyans online after his bold announcement promising to reveal the individuals behind recent abductions.
While some viewed his statement as a potential breakthrough in addressing the rising cases of forced disappearances, many Kenyans have expressed skepticism, accusing him of playing politics at a time when lives are at stake.
Social media platforms were flooded with critical responses following Mutuseâs post on X, where he promised to make âearth-breaking revelations.â Bethwel Washington accused the MP of reducing himself to a âpawnâ in orchestrated chaos.
âBy making sensational claims, youâve lowered yourself to the level of a cheap commodityâfar removed from the dignity of leadership,â he wrote, demanding that Mutuse take real action, such as tabling an impeachment motion against the alleged masterminds.
Others echoed similar sentiments. Dave Onyango remarked, âWhat we know is that Ruto’s government is unable to end the abductions and should be removed.â
Myaudi expressed personal disappointment, stating, âAs my MP, I am always ashamed to be associated with you⌠youâve become a cheap commodity.â
Kenyans also criticized the political undertones of Mutuseâs announcement, accusing him of capitalizing on human suffering.
Brenda decried the politicization of abductions, saying, âThis political game should stop! We are dealing with human lives.â
Dickson added, âUkilipwa unanyamazaâwe know you!â
Despite the backlash, others focused on the broader issue, with Mark Nyangweso vowing, âWeâre coming in numbers. Your government must release our boys.â
As the nation grapples with the crisis, Mutuseâs statement has further fueled public frustration, with many demanding immediate action and accountability rather than promises of âearth-breakingâ revelations.
