Video of a Luo man, captured washing his hands with black label 1 litre type of alcohol, has caused abuzz online. While doing that, he is heard conversing in Luo Language with the other guy who was recoding him. He ensured that, all alcohol that was inside that bottle got finished through him using it to wash his two hands. To him and the man who was capturing the said video was all fun but to a faction of Kenyans online, have been angered by that act of using alcohol inappropriately.
Upon seeing the above mentioned video, posted on the official Facebook page of Philip Etale, Raila Odinga’s aide, a netizen identified as Bonface Koech, has reacted saying,” Misguided belief that washing your hands with pombe is a sign of being monied,Bure kabisa.” Black label 1 litter type of alcohol, goes to a tune of between Ksh. 3000 to ksh. 4000. This is amount of money that to a section of Kenyans, it’s to much to spend on alcohol then one uses that alcohol to wash his hands with.
Another Kenyan who has been angered after watching the said video, goes by the name Benson Osweya. He has also commented saying,” A rich or noble person wouldn’t do the things this man does. This one is what the Swahili people call ‘LOFA’. He wrote. As it can be clearly seen on the comments section of Philip Etale, one can tell that majority of people have been angered by that act of the said Luo man washing his hands with that alcohol.
