A family at Majengo estate, in Embu town have appealed for President William Ruto intervention after their 24-year-old son was allegedly abducted by authorities.

According to Gerald Mwangi, his son Billy Wanyiri, a colleague student, was abducted by hooded men, pushed to a standby Double Cabin that sped off towards Nairobi from Embu town.

He revealed that eye witnesses told him how a Double Cabin, silver in colour made a scratching stop at a barber shop in Dallas estate, about 500 meters from their home where his son was queuing to get a shave, and four built men, masked and hooded picked him and whisked him away.

He says the boy tried to resist asking why he was being taken but the abductors told him he would know his fate later.

Mwangi observed that his son is very disciplined and might have found himself sharing online content that may have offended the authorities.

The worried father went on noting that he was a staunch supporter of the Kenya Kwanza Government citing his involvement in Campaigning for Embu governor Cecily Mbarire and President Ruto in the 2022 elections.

He narrated how he looked for his son, Wanyiri, to watch football together but his phone was unreachable. Mwangi further stated that he got worried when the son did not get home by 7pm as his norm.

This forced him to look for him at Embu police station, and hospitals and later made a statement at the Embu police station.

Wanyiri’s mother could not hold her tears as she appealed to the President to release his boy alive while apologizing on his behalf.

Embu County Police Commander Samuel Muthamia said Police have dispatched teams and are using technology under their disposal in search of the young man.

He noted that it was unfortunate that the eyewitnesses did not capture the number plates of the said double cabin.
