Former Mp for Kiminini constituency, Trans Nzoia county Hon. Chris Wamalwa, has declared that come 2027, he will be on ballot challenging governor George Natembeya. Wamalwa said this while being interviewed in a local based kitale radio station. He further refuted claims that he will be vying for Senate seat. This is after a section of Trans Nzoia residents decided to spread rumors that, Wamalwa will support Natembeya in 2027 to finish his second term, and him to challenge the current senator Hon. Allan Chesang in the senatorial position.
The honorable former Mp added that, he’s been silent on matters politics and leadership of Trans Nzoia county on grounds that, he doesn’t want to stress governor Natembeya’s leadership for now, yet people of the said county voted for him to serve them in large numbers in 2022 general elections. He’s therefore waiting for the right time to do serious politics then he dives into it fully. In the last general elections, he challenged Natembeya in the said position, he finished at position two. Wamalwa vied on Ford Kenya ticket, whereas Natembeya vied on DAP-K ticket.
Currently, the honorable former Mp is moving around Trans Nzoia county, meeting with people in the funerals and other functions that attracts huge crowd of people. When given chance to speak, he only greets them and leaves the stage. He has also erected a big billboard in Kitale town, which has his message of Christmas and new year for the residents of the said county.
