Gachagua’s allies, Gathoni Wamuchomba and Senator Methu, were spotted pulling large crowds during a visit to the region. The atmosphere became even more charged when Senator Karungo wa Thang’wa shared an update on X (formerly Twitter). He revealed that they were on their way to Olkalou County Headquarters to address the summons against Hon. Wagichuki Mwangi James, who had been accused of inciting the people of Engineer to reject President Ruto’s Jamhuri Day speech.

While at the event, Senator Karungo shared that they had engaged with the residents of Engineer. According to him, the people openly expressed their frustration with the political situation, saying they had walked out of the President’s speech on their own accord. They claimed they were tired of “empty promises” and felt that their concerns were not being heard.

The situation became more tense when Senator Karungo attempted to read the President’s Jamhuri Day speech to the crowd. Despite his efforts, the crowd refused to listen for the second time. This public rejection highlighted the growing disconnect between the leadership and the residents, who feel neglected by those in power.

The response from the people of Engineer was a clear signal of the dissatisfaction brewing in the area. While Gathoni Wamuchomba and Senator Methu’s rallies were successful in drawing large crowds, the frustrations expressed by the locals show that the political dynamics in the region are changing. This event serves as a reminder that politicians must address the concerns of their constituents and not take their support for granted.
