Ruto presented the Chief of the Order of the Burning Spear Award (C.B.S.) to Senator Karungo wa Thang’wa. This comes after he supported people-based polities and sponsored more bills than other senators in the Senate.
Karungo has been a strong opponent of President William Ruto, even after being given the award by the head of state. Recently, he requested that Ruto establish the IEBC in order to begin recalling the MPs who impeached Gachagua. The action was also taken at the same time that Hon. Sakaja, a senator from Nairobi, received the same honor from President William Ruto, despite Sakaja’s opposition to government policies.
