The visits to former president Uhuru Kenyatta’s home in Gatundu have increased this week and Kenyans are starting to wonder what is happening. On Monday Ruto paid a courtesy visit to Uhuru at his home a thing that raised mixed reactions from Kenyans. Many people wondered what he had gone to do there yet they don’t talk.
After the visit by Ruto on Monday, Uhuru was visited on Wednesday by the acting US ambassador to Kenya Marc Dillard and the UK High Commissioner Neil Wigan. The two visited Uhuru at different times. According to the office of the fourth president, their talks revolved around the peace initiatives in the region and the Nairobi Peace Process.
“Marc Dillard, the new ChargĂ© dâAffaires at the U.S. Embassy in Kenya, and UK High Commissioner to Kenya, Neil Wigan, separately paid a courtesy visit to His Excellency President (Rtd) Uhuru Kenyatta at his Gatundu home. Their discussions focused on the Nairobi Peace Process and regional peace initiatives.” Uhuru’s office said.
However, this has not convinced Kenyans who have now said that something sneaky could be happening behind the corridors and they will know very soon. There have been speculations that Uhuru will join Ruto’s camp but some people have said he will never do that. Despite his retirement Uhuru still holds the cards for the country’s politics and Ruto would not risk losing him.
