Fresh details have now emerged out how President William Ruto’s new tax bills were passed in parliament recently, without the knowledge of Kenyans until yesterday when they were assented into laws by the head of state in state house Nairobi.

According to a report by the Standard Newspaper headline today, President William Ruto’s new tax laws were quietly passed in parliament on Wednesday last week hurriedly in a seating that extended to almost 9pm. The bills were passed by about 65 Members of Parliament only in a unanimous decision.

It has now emerged out that the laws which were signed by the president yesterday are coming as a surprise to the public. Since they were not known to have been tabled in parliament to enable the government to collect more revenues, while offering relief to employees, retirees and businesses.
