The committee will comprise of 31 members, headed by former CECAFA supremo Nicholas Musonye, assisted by Hussein Mohammed- the new FKF President as the Vice Chair.
The already gazetted LOC will also act as a watchdog on the ongoing renovations at the Nyayo and Kasarani Stadiums, in preparation of hosting the CHAN and AFCON 2027 competitions.
“To the LOC, you are under pressure since the country is relying on you now. We expect you to work as a team,” Murkomen, said during the unveiling ceremony.
”With the deadlines that CAF has issued, I assure Kenyans that we will be ready to host the CHAN 2025 and AFCON 2027,” CS Murkomen added.
The confederation of African Football (CAF) wants the venues to be ready by December 31 this year for CHAN, while everything must be in place by end of 2025 as far as AFCON 2027 is concerned.
“We are behind the schedule, but I promise that as a committee, we will work together in order to make sure that we host both CHAN and AFCON competition,” observed Musonye.
As the Vice Chairman of the LOC, FKF president Hussein will add five more members into the setup.
The national steering side shall be headed by Nicholas Musonye, while the Secretariat will be headed by Mike Rabar, assisted by Patrick Korir, the FKF Secretary General.
